Seminar: BBFC

Thursday 7th November, 1-3pm

Confession time: I am fascinated by film classification.

It might not sound like the most exciting event across the festival, but I for one love finding out about the process as I find it an interesting reflection of what society thinks it is and I like to see how these standards intersect with commercial and artistic output.

Also, as filmmakers, it is helpful to know where the boundaries lie when crafting your work and thinking about audience. Plus we don't have Simon Bates letting you know what the ratings mean at the beginning of videotapes anymore - yes, I am old.
